Donovan McNabb, one of the classier guys in sports, tore his ACL and will miss the remainder of the season. I'm not going to lie, I'm pissed off and upset that the Eagles lost their game, their QB, and likely their season yesterday. I need to let off some steam. Let's take a look at some of the comments from the brilliant minds of Fanhouse readers. I feel a bit like Howard Eskin right now.Let's start with THE GIANT FAN, whose previous post I deleted due to its vulgarity and excessive use of caps lock. I thought the caps lock key was removed from the keyboard like 10 years ago?
FOR ONCE I CAN AGREE WITH AN EAGLE FAN..YOU'LL NEVER WIN ANYTHING AS LONG AS MCFLAB AND FAT BOY ARE THERE, BUT AS A GIANT FAN I HOPE THEY STAY...NOTE TO THE MORONS AT AOL..WHO THE HELL ARE YOU TO REMOVE POSTS MADE ON THIS BOARD?? THERE WAS NO VIOLATION OF YOUR FRIGGIN GOLDEN RULES SO STAY THE HELL OFF THE BOARDS AND STOP DELETING POSTS..YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED AOL....Wow. AOL's totally going down. Not let's check in with Cheryl:
I GET SO TIRED OF THE EAGLES FANS MAKING UP EXCUSES FOR THE BIRDS. AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN SEE THE EAGLES ALWAYSSSSSSSS BRING YOU SO CLOSE BUT YET SO FAR. THEY STILL TALKING ABOUT T.O. GET OVER IT AND TRY AND WIN SOME GAMES, AND CAN A EAGLE FAN PLEASE TELL ME WHY YOUR QUARTERBACK KEEPS THROWING INTERSECTIONS IN EVERY GAME. IT LOOKS LIKE TO ME HE SEE'S HIS TEAM MAKE TO THE LEFT AND THROW TO THE RIGHT WHYYYYYYYYYYYY. BUT GOT TO GIVE IT TO THE PHILLY FAN'S THEY ARE TRULY FANS TO STICK WITH THAT TEAM.. BY THE EWAY GO COWBOYSAnd later in the McNabb injury post she notes:
NOW THE EAGLE FANS WILL COME UP WITH ANOTHER EXCUSE WHY THEIR TEAM ISN'T GOING TO THE PLAY OFFS OR TO THE SUPER BOWL. THEY WILL BLAME THAT ON MCNABB, SAYING BECAUSE HE GOT HURT, BUT HE WASN'T DOING NOTHING BEFORE HE GOT HURT. AS A MATTER OF FACT DIDN'T HE THROW AN INTERCEPTION BEFORE HE GOT HURT? I THINK HE IS OVER RATED AS A QB HE CAN'T SEEM TO DEAL WITH PRESSURE..HE SHOULD HAVE LEFT NOT T.O. AND REID RIGHT BEHIND HIMThese two Giant and Cowboys fans put us Eagles fans in our place. Thanks guys. But Let's not forget rich who puts it all into perspective:
Couldn't happen to a nicer, overrated, smug, obnoxious team who are experts at choking.

Unfortunately, Andy Reid has demonstrated that he no longer has the ability to motivate or rally his team. They repeatedly come out flat in big games. He also cannot assess receiving talent -- I used to blame some of the drops on McNabb's hard throws but they drop Garcia's soft passes just as often. Play-calling remains a mystery -- how can you not quarterback sneak from 1/2 yard out with a 230 lb QB like McNabb? Two dropped interceptions from Brian Dawkins and Lito Sheppard, both of which could have been returned for TDs add to the misery. No player is stepping up for the Eagles. One can't fire the whole team so they clearly need another coach who can focus them and rekindle their fire. Its a shame to see a nice guy like Reid suffer for the sins of his players, but I believe that his effectiveness is gone as a head coach in Phila. He will be successful somewhere else.

I am ashamed of some "fans." They certainly don't share the view of all Giants fans. I for one am upset McNabb got hurt. I wish injuries on no-one and I also believe McNabb is one hell of a nice guy and a fantastic Quarterback.
Sadly that's how it goes. Each team has trolls and bandwagoners. Every time a Giants player gets hurt I have Skins, Cowboys and Eagles trolls knocking on my door screaming "yay."

I'm bummed for McNabb, of course, and for you in particular. So sorry to hear that.
The Cowboy fans in this part of the world are particularly insufferable as of late. With all the injuries to the rest of the NFC East, I might have to move to Canada or something.

Donovan McNabb is one of the classiest, if not THE classiest player in the NFL. The fact that people make these negative comments about him show how truly feared he really is. Regardless, it takes a classless, disgusting individual to triumph in someone elses pain. It's disturbing, to say the least. Especially when this kind of injury could happen to ANY player at any time. Would it be comical if it were Eli that were sidelined??? NY fans talk about an Eagles team that is arrogant....funny....I don't recall Donovan REFUSING to play for a team, talk about arrogance. And just so it's clear, arrogant, classless, disgusting fans represent EVERY team, not just the Eagles.....the evidence is clearly shown through these fan's comments. I know all about the arrogance of NY fans.....I happen to have lived in NY my entire life. The ignorance reaches from NYC all the way to upstate NY. So get off the high horse Giant fans.....you could be next. You know what they say, Kharma's a you know what :o)

I too think McNabb is a savvy guy - but spread it out. He's at the top - but no great "magic" was evident in losing to the last 3 teams. The Team goes along with him -, however, he does not "lead". He and Reid use the same psychology. Difference is McNabb is really running the actual game once the ball is snapped. I've seen him puke 2 times. Wasn't so savvy flying off to Hawaii without "saying anything" the first time. Leaves the other players holding his pukebag when he wasn't even on the plane yet - then gets upset with them? Nothing elegant about that. He should've or Reid should've explained the 30 seconds no "leader" could quite seem to find the field with. Nerves, too tired, too fat ~ whatever. Oh, he spoke - then got pissed.
Don't think Eagles will Wildcard it even in '06. That was with or without McNabb. I hope I'm wrong. Can anyone name the team they're gonna beat NOW though? There are no more "SHOULD" wins left.
Love 'em - just can't bet on 'im. Teams normally get better through the season - not win over Dallas and then lose to losers. Not as though mid-December days get less cloudy - just seems to always be that way.
Third time was a charm - but let's be real about a 5th time. Things begin going downhill and poof! Just keeps picking up speed - hasn't turned around after the Bye this late in the season - it never does. Vegas bagged out weeks ago. What was past is past - time for a change now - getting old now.

Hey Stradley! Please, please move to Canada or anywhere other than Texas. I'm one of those insufferable Cowboys fans, (I guess), and I'm sick and tired of you, your Texans blog and anything you have to think or say. You are a moron. I grew up a Cowboys AND a Houston Oilers fan. I adopted the Texans too, even though they've been an embarrassment since joining the league. You have to hide in an Eagles post to take cheap shots at Cowboys fans? What a chickenshit...Look, I could care less about McNabb. Injuries happen. So sad. It is amusing that the Eagles had such a great backup plan. Garcia isn't a has-been, he's a never was...All I can say about McNabb is the same thing I can say about Peyton...They've never won anything. Call me when you win a Super Bowl. Until then, have a nice warm glass of shut the hell up...Tim in Texas

A druged up Rush Limbaugh was rite, but too stupid to just say MCNabb sucks ! Plain and simple without bringing in ethnic or racial stereotypes.
Donovan MCnabb Sucks !!!!! Andy Ried Sucks !!!!!!
Donovan has been cheeting eagles fans and Phily after injuring his ankle the first time. He is suposed to be a mobile QB. He has the size and strength to take off for first downs when nothing is open. Donovan chooses to play like a little girl, by taking sacks. Andy Rieds play book would put insomniacs to sleep.
Andy caudles his little QB. Donavan has been hideing his injuries, and had lost confidence in his abilities two years ago. He was scared of re injury
and not playing up to the level Philly fans expect.
You will see a seasoned QB in Jeff Garcia, and a team that will win next weeks game. Garcia won games in San Fran and is capable of finishing out the season
for the eagles. In the mean time, they should look into the upcomming draft, and start looking for a promising QB for next season.
If Mcnab comes back next Year, you may see a riot in Philly !!!!!!
McNabb and Ried conspired against Owens, to play keep away, and cheated Philly out of a good player who's only fault was having a big mouth, and did not think before speaking. Owens is a product of the streets, and football is his only way out. Owens has no education and acts the way he does because Money and persoinal fame are what drives him. Once you understand this, you can except Owens for being Owens.(He doesn't know any better)T.O. just wants to be a pimped out Neon Dion Sanders. Dallas had the balls to go after Owens knowing he is a challenge, but the gain out weighs the media attention. If they needed to hire a baby sitter for him than so be it. They recognized his potential and are working on keeping his disturbances down. The bottom line is that Owens tallent was not tapped into, and left a big hole when he was kicked out of town. If you ask me, Chad Johnson is just a smarter version of T.O. who knows how to play the media perfectly. Chad took a page out of T.O.'s book and made show boating a positive thing.
Bottom line is Philly is left high and dry in mid season. They are missing players like Duce Mcallester and T.O.
And they have a fat ass coach who's play book suffers because he does not have the players who can execute them.
I say good riddens to Donavan !!!!! He sucks !!!!!
Owens is laughing his face off rite now !!!!!

Hey Cheryl,
That's funny you say McNabb "BUT HE WASN'T DOING NOTHING BEFORE HE GOT HURT". (Nice english by the way you illiterate cowpoke) Considering he is tied for the lead in TD's and second in yardage.
Hey didn't Eagles spank the Cowgirls earlier this year?

I wish we could just get rid of all these fake fans who think they're cool just because they watch football. They want to talk to their buddies about something so they make harsh and idiotic comments that they think a REAL sports fan would say. I'm talking about the fans who say the Bears or Colts suck because they lost the game or the people who watch ESPN for 5 minutes a day but don't watch any games and they see ESPN jock T.O and Tony Romo for 5 minutes and say that Romo and T.O are the best combonation since Montana/ Young to Jerry Rice.

Moron? Surely an articulate and classy fan as yourself could do better than that. Or are you 12 years old?
I am guessing if the dictionary had an entry for "Insufferable Cowboy Fan," they could use your picture to illustrate it.
(Tim, if you truly are 12 years old, I apologize for that last paragraph.)

Well , well well.......so there IS karma in the NFL. As far as Mcna......er.....Mcchoke being one of the "classier" (yeah right) players in the league, give that BS a rest. Mcnabb with his idiotic endzone dances, arrogant statements after losses saying that: " hey well , we're still the best team anyway"
( yeah, he's done that almost every season) coupled with that stupid smirk on his face whenever he wins a game, pretty much adds up to a losing low class moron, perfect match for filthydelfia btw. My only regeret is not being able to watch Mcchoke get his bell rung by Roy Williams and CO. in Dallas for XMAS.
GOOD RIDDANCE MCCHOKE!

Hey Tony.....3rd grade called......they want their smack talk back (and their spelling and grammar you illiterate fool). Try football talk....or is that too difficult for your pea-sized brain to handle? Only a person who has no football knowledge, or ANY knowledge for that matter, would say he sucks. He may not be the best player, but he is certainly better than anything Philly has ever had. And he's a fantasy DREAM, fantasy football that is!
And just so you're clear on this, it would be my pleasure to play McNabb's center......i'm a girl dummy!
